THROAT INFECTIONS

Throat infections are commonly associated with colds and other viral respiratory tract infections. Symptomatic relief is gained from antiseptic gargles and lozenges and can require antibiotics.

 On the side of the neck at the jaw angle and in the hollow between the jaw bone and the large muscle.
 CV23
 In the centre of the neck half way between the Adam's Apple and the chin.
 LI4
 Situated on the top of the hand in the webbing between the thumb and forefinger, around the highest point of the raised area occurring when the thumb and forefinger are brought together.
 SP6
 Three thumb widths above the inner ankle bone on the very back edge of the bone.
 GV14
 On the centre line of the spine in the depression between the 7th cervical vertebra and the 1st thoracic vertebra at the top of the spine below the neck.
 ST36
 Three thumb widths below the kneecap and on the outer side of the leg one thumb width from the outstanding angle of the leg bone.
